Skyblue lupine is a beautiful perennial that is very particular about its growing conditions, making it very hard to grow. We have found the skyblue lupine at Hundred Acre Hollows in between the two Northern basins. The skyblue lupine usually needs two things to grow: full sun and well-drained sandy soil. This Florida native plant is also the larval host for endangered frosted elfin butterflies, gray hairstreak butterflies, and other butterflies and moths. We are so happy to have this majestic and beautiful wildflower at HAH!
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit acting as caretakers to 114 acres of land in Brevard County. Our vision is to use this land to discover, study, and teach about Florida’s plants and animals to help sustain and enrich lives.
